Inauguration of the Hoa Khanh Tay Water Supply Plant Phase II

On December 15, 2022, Phú Mỹ Vinh Investment and Construction Joint Stock Company held the inauguration ceremony for the Phase II expansion of the Hòa Khánh Tây Water Supply Plant. The event was attended by Nguyễn Văn Được, a member of the Central Party Committee and Secretary of the Long An Provincial Party Committee, alongside representatives from the Construction Activities Management Department (Ministry of Construction) and various other ministries and local authorities.

Located in Đức Hòa District, the project began construction in May 2020 and has a total capacity of 80,000 m³ per day, with a maximum capacity of 100,000 m³ per day. It utilizes surface water sourced from the Dầu Tiếng reservoir, with a total investment exceeding USD 20 million (the combined investment for both phases is USD 74 million). The project aims to supply clean water in accordance with the provincial water supply master plan for Long An.

The plant is equipped with the most advanced water treatment technologies currently available, including Lamella high-rate sedimentation, dual-layer HDPE filter systems, and Static Mixer devices. The treated water meets the Ministry of Health’s drinking water standards (QCVN 01:2009).

In addition, the plant has developed a 32-kilometer clean water distribution network extending to six northern communes of Đức Hòa District and the northern areas of Bến Lức District, which previously lacked centralized clean water supply systems. This ensures the provision of clean water to residents and supports production activities in industrial parks and clusters.

Speaking about the Hòa Khánh Tây Phase II project, Long An provincial leaders highlighted its significance. Long An faces many challenges in ensuring access to clean water for residential and industrial use. The investment in the Hòa Khánh Tây water supply project is therefore crucial for the province’s socio-economic development.
